Sperm transfers are often the most time-flexible of the movements we handle, which makes them the easiest to plan properly. The constraint is usually authorisation rather than logistics: who may instruct the release, and what the receiving organisation needs to see before it will accept the material.
We establish that first. Once the authorisation position is clear, scheduling is straightforward and the route can be confirmed quickly.

How coordination works
We confirm with the sending facility who is authorised to instruct the release.
We confirm with the receiving facility what it requires before it will accept the material.
Where a donor programme is involved, we work to the programme's own transfer procedure rather than imposing ours.
Before collection
- Verify the authorisation route for the release
- Confirm the receiving facility has capacity and will accept the material
- Agree container counts and identifiers with both laboratories
- Confirm the shipper configuration for the planned route duration
During transport
- A named courier accompanies the shipment throughout
- Each change of responsibility is recorded, timed and signed
- The sending and receiving facilities are told when collection has taken place
At handover
- Identifiers and container counts are checked against the release documentation
- The receiving facility signs for the material
- The custody record is issued to both facilities and the enquirer

Stated up front, because finding out later is worse for everybody.
- Donor material may carry additional conditions set by the programme or the receiving country.
- Some destinations restrict the import of reproductive material. Eligibility is confirmed during assessment.
- We do not advise on the clinical suitability of any sample.
